The director of the laboratory, Dr. Anastasios Dounis, is distinguished as a member of the University of West Attica, with a high ranking in terms of his research work. Specifically, he holds the 616th position among the 829 Greek scientists included in the list, which contains more than 186,000 scientists worldwide.

The certain ranking is based on the annual publication by Jeroen Baas (Elsevier, B.V.), Kevin Boyack (SciTech Strategies, USA) & John P.A. Ioannidis (Stanford) with the most important scientists in the field. The database is announced annually and evaluates the impact of the scientific work for more than 8,000,000 scientists worldwide, classifying them into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. It uses references from Scopus data and presents data on the overall impact of published research on scientists throughout their academic careers.

This list also includes the recently retired professor of the University of West Attica, George Patermarakis, a member of the laboratory of Artificial Computational Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Applications, in rank 604.
